Tom Lund Bio
Tom Lund has been active in the local theatre community for thirty years. Starting as a child performer with the Canyon Theatre Guild at their old location WAY up Sierra Highway, he fell in love with the stage from the very start. In his high school years, Tom began to explore the world of technical theatre, specializing in lighting design. As he gained more experience, he also began working in other elements of theatre: stage manager, vocal director, audio engineer, fight captain, assistant director, director, and the youngest elected member of the Board of Directors. Tom has not only worked with the Canyon Theatre Guild but also with Saugus High School, Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Tribe Productions in Hollywood, The Repertory East Playhouse, College of the Canyons, and Olive Branch Theatricals. Over his lengthy career, he has worked on well over 100 different productions in various positions within the production.
In 2017, Tom was hired as the Theatre Manager for the newly renovated Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts. During his time, he has helped grow the venue, from hosting elementary school events to the theater being utilized by over 20 different local organizations. Under his leadership, the Newhall Family Theatre has seen various performances, including live theatre, stand-up comedy, film screenings, chamber music, and dance recitals. He has been instrumental in helping to develop youth programs that include a tech theatre workshop for elementary school students, Talking Backstage (a YouTube series that explores different careers in entertainment), Story Time with Sir Dude (a YouTube series during the Covid pandemic that featured children's story books being read), and the recently successful children's theatre program Saturday's Kids.
